Your Money
By the Book

You are probably aware at this time that we, as a Township, have spent beyond our means the last few years.  Our current Supervisors, fortunately, appear to be working very hard to stop this, and I would like to help.  To that end, if elected Supervisor I would require that our Township employees keep comprehensive and accurate books to ensure that every one of our tax dollars is being spent in a responsible, reasonable manner.  Also, I will encourage open lines of communcation and frequent meetings with appropriate persons to discuss and understand the activities and fiscal needs of departments and discuss/identify any and all budgetary concerns.  A new budget, ideally, should be arrived at using information that is diligently collected throughout the entire year, and I will commit myself to collecting as much information as I can and making fully-informed decisions, with the help of the community, based upon a careful consideration of the facts. I also realize that our money is in short supply, so I will prioritize items in order of importance to the Township.  I will give NOBODY and NOTHING preferential treatment at the expense of you and the interests of our community as a whole.

In addition, I support opening up all of our expiring contracts to competitive bidding and subjecting vendor billing statements and invoices to close scrutiny and criticism, when warranted, to ensure reasonableness and accuracy.  If there is a better way or better person/company to handle our Township business, I’ll make every attempt to identify and implement the necessary change.  Similarly, I will work to ensure that we have the best people doing the best jobs our money can buy.
